Description
What you will learn
You will learn how to traditionally repair the joints to three of the chairs (the other three chairs are structally sound) and sympathtically revive and restore the wood work on all six.
The seats need webbing and new stuffing. They are fixed Upholstery (no sewing machine required).
All six chairs are antique balloon back chairs from three different makers therefore they have slight differences. The three with red seats are identical and need some restoration to the frame joints. The two with green seats are identical and structurally sound and the one with the blue/grey seat is also structually sound and has a slightly different design to the drop in seat. All three designs have slight variations to the turned legs (see photos above). Together they form a quirky unique set of chairs worthy of showing off. What fabrics will you choose?
Depending on your skill level, we would estimate around 12 hours to complete one chair and around 24+ hours if you wish to complete 4 or more chairs.
