Maisie Loola-Bell, like her fellow Misfits, is not just a table; she’s a piece of living history. Her legs, originally part of Queen Anne chairs, were carved from trees that were likely over 100 years old when the furniture was first made. Now, 200 years later, this wood still retains its strength and character, a testament to the resilience of natural materials and fine craftsmanship.

It feels almost criminal to discard wood of such history and durability, which is why, in the Stevenson and Soames workshop, we breathe new life into these pieces.

At Stevenson and Soames, we are proud members of the Guild of Master Craftsmen, ensuring that each piece, like Maisie Loola-Bell, is created with the highest standard of quality and craftsmanship. In today’s world, sustainability is more important than ever, and by choosing Maisie, you’re supporting a circular economy where precious materials are given a second life, sparing them from the landfill.

Each member of The Misfits carries a stamp of authenticity from Stevenson and Soames, a mark that guarantees both the quality of the craftsmanship and the legacy of the materials.

Condition Report

Maisie Loola-Bell is in excellent condition, having been meticulously restored and crafted from reclaimed materials.

The walnut top has been lovingly treated with teak oil and wax, which not only enhances its natural beauty but also preserves its durability.

There are some slight, natural imperfections in the wood’s grain that add character and speak to the table’s unique history, but no major marks, scratches, or damage are present. The legs, repurposed from vintage Queen Anne chairs, are sturdy and show only minor signs of wear consistent with their age. These subtle signs of use contribute to the table’s charm without affecting its stability or functionality.
